One of the main focuses of the Black Panther Party was the development of community social programs, designed to educate, encourage, and empower the black community. These social programs, which included transportation, education, provision of food and clothing, sexual health clinics, drug abuse counseling, and health care, spanned across all chapters of the party and many of them can still be found in place today.
One of the most notable of these programs was the Free Breakfast For School Children program, which strove to provide young children with food in order to increase their potential in education. This program illustrates the party's aim to provide both physical aide and a more empowered and educated generation. |
